ប្រទេសអាល់បានី ឈ្មោះជាផ្លូវការ៖ សាធារណរដ្ឋអាល់បានី ដែលជាប្រទេសមួយស្ថិតនៅទ្វីបអឺរ៉ុបប៉ែកអាគ្នេយ៍។ ប្រទេសនេះមានព្រំប្រទល់ជាប់នឹង ប្រទេសក្រិច ប៉ែកអាគ្នេយ៍ ជាប់ ម៉ុងតេនេហ្គ្រូ ប៉ែកខាងជើង ជាប់ កូសូវ៉ូ ប៉ែកឦសាន្តដែលជាតំបន់មានជំលោះដែនដី និងជាប់ សាធារណរដ្ឋម៉ាសេដូនី ប៉ែកខាងកើត។ ប្រទេសអាល់បានី ក៏ជាសមាជិក អង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិ ណាតូ(អង្គការការពារសន្តិសុខ និង សហប្រតិបត្តិការសហគមអឺរ៉ុប អង្គការពាណិជ្ជកម្មពិភពលោក អង្គការសន្និសិទ្ធិនៃសាសនាអ៊ីស្លាម ហើយក៏ជាផ្នែកមួយរបស់សមាជិកស្ថាបនានៃសមុទ្រម៉េឌីទែរ៉ាណេផងដែល ។ ប្រទេសនេះក៏ធ្លាប់ជាបេក្ខជន ដ៏មានសក្កានុពលក្នុងការចូលរួម ជាមួយសហគមអឺរ៉ុបចាប់តាំងពី ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ២០០៣ ហើយក៏បានដាក់ពាក្យជាផ្លូវការមួយ ដើម្បីធ្វើជាសមាជិករបស់ អ៊ីយ៉ូ(EU) នៅថ្ងៃទី២៨ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០០៩ ។ ប្រទេសអាល់បានី គឺជាប្រទេសមួយដែលកាន់លទ្ធិប្រជាធិប្បតេយ្យ អាស្រ័យរដ្ឋធម្មនុញ្ញ។ ប្រទេសនេះមានរដ្ឋធានីថាទីរ៉ាណា ដែលមានប្រជាជនរស់នៅប្រមាណជាជាង៧២៧ ០០០នាក់ ក្នុងចំនោមប្រជាជន៣.៦លាននាក់ ហើយវាក៏ជាកន្លែងហិរញ្ញវត្ថុដ៏សំខាន់ក្នុងប្រទេសផងដែល ។

ប្រទេសអាល់បានី គឺជាឈ្មោះនៅក្នុងភាសាឡាតាំង ដែលគេហៅថា ស្គ្វីប៉េរ៉ី(Shqipëri) ហៅដោយអ្នកស្រុកដើមនៅទីនោះ ។ នៅក្នុងភាសាក្រិច ប្រទេសនេះមានឈ្មោះថា អាល់បានី(Greek: Αλβανία) ក្រោយមកក៏បានប្តូរទៅជាអាល់បានីតៀ(Albanitia) ។
