Plusnet is a British internet service provider (ISP). The company was founded in 1997 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and floated on the Alternative Investment Market in July 2004, making them a public limited company (Plusnet plc). On 30 January 2007 Plusnet was acquired by BT Group, but it continues to operate as a separate business. Plusnet also operates the Metronet brand in the UK, including pay as you host and just-the-name, as well as the Madasafish brands, Vodafone@home and the John Lewis Broadband (including Waitrose and Greenbee Broadband). In November 2013, it also took over Comms Factory, acquiring some 28,000 customers previously under the Yourcalls and 24 Talk brands. By December 2013, it had over 750,000 customers across the UK.[1]
