King Sisowath of Cambodia died on Tuesday, the 11th day of the waxing moon of the 9nth month, the year 2470 BE, corresponding to 9 August 1927 CE.
His cremation rite was held for 10 days from Friday, the 11 day of the waxing moon of the 4th month, the year 2470 BE, corresponding to 2 March 1928 BE, to Sunday, the 5th day of the waning moon of the 4th month of the same year, corresponding to 11 March 1928 BE.
On the first day, his dead body was paraded out of the Mahā Mandīr Hall (Khmer: ព្រះទីនាំងមហាមន្ទីរ), where it had lain in state for months, to the cremation venue which lied to the north of the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
On the second day, the pus from this dead body was paraded to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha to be burnt away there.
From the third to the eighth days, merit-making ceremonies were held in dedication to him.
On the eighth day, his dead body was cremated.
On this ninth day, his ashes were disposed of in river.
On this tenth day, his relics were paraded to the Devā Vinicchaya Hall (Khmer: ព្រះទីនាំងទេវាវិនិច្ឆ័យ) to be enshrined there.
