បច្ចេកវិទ្យាសារគមនាគមន៍ (បសគ) ហៅកាត់ជាអង់គ្លេសថា ICT ជាញឹកញាប់ត្រូវបានប្រើជាវេវចនសព្ទមានន័យទូលំទូលាយជាង បច្ចេកវិទ្យាព័ត៌មាន (បព) ប៉ុន្តែគឺជាបច្ចេកសព្ទជាក់លាក់មួយទៀតដែលសង្កត់ធ្ងន់ទៅលើតួនាទីនៃគមនាគមន៍បំឯក និងសមាហរណកម្មនៃទូរគមនាគមន៍ (ខ្សែទូរសព្ទ និងសញ្ញាណឥតខ្សែ) គណនូបករណ៍ក៏ដូចជាគ្រឿងទន់សហគ្រាស គ្រឿងមធ្យម ធ្នុក និង ប្រព័ន្ធសោតទស្សន៍ ដែលអាចឱ្យអ្នកប្រើប្រាស់ចូលទៅកាន់ ផ្ទុក ផ្ទេរ និង ចាត់ចែងព័ត៌មាន។

បច្ចេកសព្ទThe term ICT is also used to refer to the convergence of audio-visual and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to merge the telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution and management.
